Mandy Lee Jandrell is Dean of the Faculty of Creative Arts & Communication at Falmouth University. She oversees a diverse portfolio of departments providing both campus based and global online programmes, including the Institute of Photography, the Falmouth School of Art, and the School of Communications. She leads strategic initiatives to enhance research, teaching, and portfolio development, while also contributing to cross-institutional projects such as the development of a learning and teaching philosophy and portfolio growth strategies.

Previously, Mandy served as Academic Staff Governor on the Board of Governors at Falmouth University, contributing to key decision making on academic matters and contributing expertise to key themes such as teaching excellence and research frameworks.

Her career at Falmouth University includes roles as Director of the Institute of Photography and Director of the Falmouth School of Art, where she utilised her creative problem solving skills to lead initiatives to enhance student recruitment, retention, and satisfaction, as well as to promote research and innovation. She played a key role in developing new courses (both on campus and global online programmes) and fostering partnerships with industry and cultural institutions, both regionally and internationally.

Before joining Falmouth University, Mandy held positions at Southampton Solent University and West Kent College, where she demonstrated a commitment to improving student engagement and progression through innovative teaching and learning strategies. As an artist, Mandy's work has been exhibited and published internationally, with a focus on photography, collage, and multimedia installations. Her art practice informs her academic leadership, emphasising creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking. She has also previously worked in various roles in the creative industries, as a producer, artworker and photographer.

She holds a BA (Hons) in Fine Art from the Michaelis School of Fine Art, University of Cape Town, an MA in Fine Art from Goldsmiths College, University of London, and a PGCTLHE from Solent University, Southampton, UK. Currently enrolled in a DBA Higher Education Management program at the University of Bath, UK, her research focuses on equipping creative graduates with future-facing skills.
